Plaster Relief Sculpture

Cast out of gypsum cement into a variety of ubiquitous materials, these plaster relief sculptures straddle the line between precision fabrication and the adoption of Wabi-Sabi, a traditional Japanese aesthetic that embraces the transient and imperfect. Each sculpture mold is individually hand-crafted by manipulating the materials to achieve the desired composition. After being removed from the mold, each piece is sealed and features an embedded mounting system.
